It’s vital to take steps to ensure that heating systems run to their optimal efficiency and preventative maintenance measures are put in place to contain costs and energy usage, protect system components and maintain comfort levels within the home - that’s the advice from Suzanne Day of Spirotech, the water conditioning and system protection specialists.
“Water quality needs to be proactively maintained and monitored, helping to increase the system’s life span and that of its components, improving energy efficiency, saving on running costs and reducing CO2 footprint. “If dirt and sludge are allowed to build up and air becomes trapped in boilers, pumps, pipe-work and radiators, the heating system suffers and households face poor comfort quality, prohibitive heating bills, boiler noise, and ‘cold pockets’ in radiators. This scenario can lead to component failure and system breakdown.
“Chemicals, inhibitors, air and dirt separation should be viewed as one inter- related process, with all of these playing a part in effective water treatment.
“Offering optimum filtration and easy draining, with no mess, the powerful SpiroTrap MB3 dirt separator features patent pending, intelligent magnetic field booster technology - pioneered over several years by Spirotech’s international R&D facility - plus the unique SpiroTube for effective, non magnetic dirt separation. Totally universal, the MB3 features a 20 years’ SpiroLife guarantee.
“By simply sliding down and removing the SpiroTrap MB3’s external magnetic jacket before draining, the magnetic debris is flushed away with the non magnetic particles in one swift action.
“Air in the system can lead to corrosion, causing serious damage to components and impairing performance. After initial venting, system water still contains dissolved gases and micro bubbles. It’s also susceptible to the introduction of further air – for example when work is carried out.
“A high performance, micro bubble de-aerator, the robust, brass SpiroVent RV2 makes system water absorptive and ensures the swift removal of micro bubbles, whilst also stopping larger air bubbles arising.
“Its hydraulic design minimises flow resistance. The spiral structure at its core (the SpiroTube) forces micro bubbles to rise out of the flow and vents them automatically – forcing unwanted gases out. It can be easily installed at any angle and carries the exceptional 20 year SpiroLife guarantee.
“The KIWA-ATA cert SpiroPlus range of flushing agents and additives works perfectly alongside the SpiroTrap MB3 and SpiroVent RV2, ensuring optimal conditions are maintained whilst avoiding damage to the unit itself.
“Spirotech offers informed advice on performance improvement on projects ranging from single-family houses, large housing developments, major non-residential structures and industrial processes. Its products feature in installations including local authorities and high profile contracts, including British Gas.”
