Calor, the UK’s leading supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), will be demonstrating the benefits of switching to LPG for material handling fleets at IMHX 2016, including significantly reduced fuel costs and carbon emissions.
Following the UK’s ambitious new target to cut carbon emissions by 57 per cent against 1990 levels by 2032, more and more businesses are looking for measures to improve their green credentials. The Calor team will be available on stand 10J27 to discuss how converting fleets from diesel to LPG can dramatically cut harmful emissions and help meet CSR targets.
Forklift trucks will benefit from the fact LPG emits 98 per cent less particulate matter than diesel, as well as delivering considerably lower noise pollution, meaning trucks can be used indoors and at night with confidence.
Supported by a nationwide delivery network, LPG’s excellent green credentials are also ideal for fleets that have to operate in sensitive environments, such as food and beverage sites, where healthy and safety is critical and cannot be compromised.
Andy Kellett, National Account Manager – Forklift Trucks at Calor, explains: “LPG offers an extensive range of benefits to the logistics and materials handling industry. Reducing a fleet’s environmental impact is currently a top priority for many businesses and, with LPG delivering 20 per cent less CO2 per kWh than oil, those that choose to invest in LPG to fuel their fleets can be assured of a green, efficient solution. Indeed, businesses such as Sainsbury’s and landscaping manufacturer Marshalls have reaped the rewards since fuelling their fleets from LPG.
“With a range of fuel supply options available, from bulk tanks to cylinders and fixed fuel tanks with increased capacity, there will be a solution available to suit each customer’s individual needs.
“Attendees can enjoy a range of fun activities at our stand too, including a forklift racing game – with the chance of winning an iPad should they climb to the top of the leader board – and a series of cylinder demonstrations to demonstrate how our technology ensures fleets run as efficiently as possible.”
Visitors will also be able to discuss the opportunities around bio-LPG with Calor, as the company is set to become the first energy company in Europe to supply the gas, which is chemically identical to LPG but created from renewable feedstocks such as organic plant materials, vegetable oil and animal fats.
IMHX 2016, the UK’s leading exhibition for the logistics and supply chain industry, takes place at the NEC in Birmingham, from 13 – 16 September.
