Storywall by Granorte, is the manufacturer’s latest innovative surface to harness the beneficial properties and low impact of cork.
Taking cork recycled from the wine stopper industry, Granorte uses direct digital print to create patterns onto large-format wall tiles. Capturing modern colourful pixelates, distinct geometrics and stripes along with classic floral and embellished motifs, Storywall brings new meaning to pattern, layering these designs above cork’s unique and unmistakable natural aesthetic.
Made from 100% post-industrial recycled cork, printed with water-based inks and finished with a water-based protective Aquadur lacquer, Storywall is a wall finish with a low-impact, as well as excellent acoustic and thermal properties.
“Cork is a fantastic natural insulator and is used as a lightweight insulative material in many applications,” explains Paulo Rocha, Product and R&D Manager, Granorte. “Storywall harnesses this quality with a 4mm thick tile that helps to absorb noise and keep spaces warmer. Add in fantastic durability and a water-based lacquer and Storywall is a great performing wall finish that brings a unique, unmistakable look.”
Available in 17 patterns created by industrial design duo Alzira Peixoto and Carlos Mendonca in conjunction with the Granorte Design Centre, Storywall comes in a 570 x 570mm tile to be glued directly to the wall. Flexible and PVC-free, Storywall is suitable for domestic and commercial use.
