Harmony was chosen as the glazing of choice for The Millennium in Crissier, Switzerland
Saint-Gobain has announced the release of SageGlass Harmony®, the world’s most elegant dynamic glass. Unveiled for the first time at Glasstec in Dusseldorf, Germany, Harmony is a unique glazing solution for building owners and designers seeking to enhance the occupant experience by maximizing visual and thermal comfort. Unlike other solar management solutions that compromise aesthetics and impede views, Harmony dynamic glass provides daylight, heat and glare management while maintaining a natural and seamless connection to the outdoors.
What Makes Harmony Different
SageGlass LightZone was the first dynamic glazing to allow for in-pane tinting to precisely control the source of uncomfortable heat and glare while providing optimal lighting conditions. However, LightZone has defined lines between tinted and clear areas of the glass. Harmony improves on this by delivering a gradual in-pane tint transition from fully clear to fully tinted. The result is a glazing that affords a more seamless connection with the outdoors while still providing optimized daylight, color rendering, heat and glare control. According to SageGlass CEO Alan McLenaghan “Harmony represents the best glass technology evolution ever produced in our dynamic glazing portfolio. It represents a near perfect balance between the performance and aesthetic goals a solar control and glazing solution needs to deliver”.
Harmony Supports Millennium’s Ambitious Goals
Millennium is motivated by a very bold goal: to empower their occupants by providing the best place to create, share and live their lives at work. Recognizing that superior places demand ample access to natural light and views, The Millennium provides all 1,500 workplaces with sweeping views of the Geneva lakeside across its curved façade. They chose SageGlass Harmony to deliver the singular, innovative occupant experience that is at the heart of their mission. “Every product we select for our building needs to be an expression our commitment to delivering only the very best. This was especially important for our glazing selection, since it is such a significant and visible part of our design” said Martin Schlienger of The Millennium project team. He adds “Harmony both embodies that commitment and will deliver to our occupants an unparalleled level of comfort and connection to the outdoors”.
Millennium: A True Smart Building
Delivering on its bold goal demands creating one of the most advanced, connected and tech enabled working environments in the world. Everything at Millennium will be connected to the cloud and managed via smartphone apps, from conference rooms to concierge services. In this smart building, the elevators will even know when you’ve entered the building and be ready to take you to your floor. The glazing needed to be just as smart. “Harmony is integrated into our Cloud service as an Internet of Things (IoT) device and is also driven by Siemens Building Management System, allowing us to ensure we’re consistently delivering an optimized indoor environment for a superior occupant experience” said Martin Schlienger.
Full production of SageGlass Harmony will begin early in the third quarter of 2019. For more information on SageGlass Harmony visit www.sageglass.com/harmony.
