Saint-Gobain PAM have launched a new pre-assembly service for the Ensign cast iron above ground drainage system. The service offers much more than just pre-assembly. Saint-Gobain break down the many benefits of the system below.
The Service
Stage 1 - Early Collaboration
The PAM regional technical sales managers will engage with you at the very early stages of the project to evaluate the possibilities and benefits of going down a pre-assembly install route. Through early collaboration the team can identify any unique requirements before taking any early design drawings for take-off estimation.
Stage 2 – Estimation
PAM has devised a standard list of stack arrangements in 100mmm diameter which will assist the technical team in calculating an initial take-off estimate from the design drawings provided.
Stage 3 - Stack designs approval
PAM will provide detailed CAD drawings and 3D models of the stack arrangements for site approval utilising the latest digital technology. The stacks are fully compliant with BS EN 12056 Part 2 ensuring all soil stack branches are swept radius in accordance with the guidelines.
Stage 4 - Simplified ordering through the merchant
The PAM pre-assembly stacks are set up with a standard product code and price list and therefore are ordered in the same way as standard individual Ensign components, through the merchant distributor.
Stage 5 – Assembly and air test
The ordered stack arrangements are then assembled in a purpose made stillage at the PAM manufacturing site in Telford. When each stack is fully assembled it is air pressure tested as standard to 0.5 bar for 5 mins in accordance with BS EN 12056. The stacks are then labelled with the relevant location reference and floor level in accordance with the drawings.
Stage 6 – Logistics
The unique stillage’s are designed to restrict movement during transportation of the stack assemblies to the project site. The stillage design also allows for easy off-load via fork lift or hoist and have wheels fitted to facilitate movement around the site and to manoeuvre to install locations.
Stage 7 - Flexibility on site
The PAM pre-assembly soil stacks are initially based around 1.7m in length in many arrangements designed to facilitate a one-man lift operation. To fully connect each floor a 100mm soil pipe is cut on site which allows flexibility for any site variances ensuring total accuracy and minimise any waste.
Stage 8 – Installation support
The PAM team will liaise with stakeholders throughout the project providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth installation.
