The three-storey development in Wandsworth, south London comprises 10 residential apartments.
Qualitas Property Development were appointed to build the property in ‘a sought after’ residential location close to Tooting Broadway underground tube station.
In terms of the roof’s waterproofing aspect, which was carried out by Ithaca Roofing, the installation presented a number of challenges. The design included dormers, slopes and detailed box guttering.
Most importantly, the client required a standing seam effect to be incorporated within the 330m2 roof’s design. This was made possible with the specification of Sika-Trocal’s fully-bonded SGK system. The reinforced, single-ply PVC waterproof membrane offers a durable solution for warm and cold roof construction.
As well as supplying high tensile strength and superb resistance, Sika-Trocal® SGK provides outstanding weathering and excellent flexibility in cold temperatures, which along with its easy installation benefits; makes it the ideal membrane for exposed roofs. Sika-Trocal SE Profile, an extruded PVC profile, was installed to create the roof’s standing-seam effect.

The property’s waterproofing was completed in July 2019, within the client’s agreed one month deadline. The impressive new-build has been furnished with a proven, watertight roofing system, which thanks to Sika-Trocal® SGK, will retain its performance and smart, crisp appearance.
