Tata Steel, one of Europe’s leading steel producers, is delighted to introduce a new gold colour offering to its Colorcoat Prisma ® range of pre-finished steel.
Introduced following increased demand within the construction market for metallic shades, particularly for highly aesthetic buildings, the new colour - named Seren Midas - offers a warm and vibrant gold effect. It can be found in the Elements range, alongside other metal shades, including Seren Copper and Seren Silver, which are all guaranteed for up to 30 years.
Colorcoat Prisma ® is one of the pre-finished steel products offered by Tata Steel; combining outstanding aesthetics with a long-lasting, durable performance. As a result of Tata Steel’s innovative three-layer manufacturing technology, Colorcoat Prisma ® not only pushes the boundaries for UV performance but also outperforms the highest European corrosion resistance standards.
Speaking about the launch of Seren Midas, Dr Peter Barker, Manager - New Product Development at Tata Steel, said: “We’re really excited about our new gold shade - it’s already generated a lot of interest on an international scale, particularly with architects and building designers.
“While we already have a gold shade in the Elements range, we knew that we wanted to create a colour that was even more eye-catching in its appearance and also resembled a deeper gold colour. Seren Midas is a bright, glossy and intense gold and will provide architects with an exciting opportunity to create a truly striking building. It’s a colour that looks great in all weathers, brilliantly reflecting the sunlight on summer days and still maintaining its shine during the rainier seasons.”
The shade name, Seren Midas, reflects this move to a more typical gold effect, with inspiration taken from King Midas, who is popularly remembered in Greek mythology for turning everything he touched into gold.
