MOODS are the latest inspiration for designers from UNILIN Panels.
Giving a broad playing field to fuel creativity, MOODS is a series of collaborative projects between UNILIN Panels and design studios. In the third of the series, Ghent-based Studio Woot Woot, delivers CLASSIC STATE OF MIND, a palette in-tune with the sophisticated reserve of large corporations, law practices and architecture firms.
The offices of prestigious organisations such as banks and law firms may well have interiors that are stately, but they are actually in need of an update,” Karina Soors, Studio Woot Woot explains. “The traditional dark wood panelling of these style workplaces can feel oppressive and by adding softer elements and combining warmer timber effects, it’s possible to create an accessible openness.”
UNILIN Evola provides the surface finishes to update the stately and staid for an interior with an effortless, timeless character. Colours of black and cognac combined in clean lines exude certainty and dependability, and with the addition of soft pink and gold accessories these spaces take on a more empathetic and sensitive manner.
“Start with a modest colour palette,” Karina advises. “Include black and gold for their timeless appeal and add a nude to express softness. Play around with different materials, such as glossy combined with satin finishes, alternating the graphic vibe with a slight playfulness. Achieve warmth by combining two cognac-coloured wood designs. Also, consider how you can use functional objects as decorative elements, thus creating your very own state of mind that’s sure to be a timeless classic.”
CLASSIC STATE OF MIND defines five finishes in the UNILIN collection: the authentic coloured MDF of Fibralux in Black Super Matt, Mercury Grey and Meteor Grey, as well as Lorenzo Walnut Medium Brown and Brushed Gold from UNILIN Evola. Available in HPL and melamine-faced panels with matching edging strips, UNILIN Evola finishes are durable and easy to maintain and can be used to bring the mood to work surfaces, walls, doors, desktops, panels and much more.
