The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has launched a mobile application entitled CIOB Connect. The app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
Users of the app will gain access to features such as a library of Continued Professional Development (CPD) videos, news feeds from CIOB’s publications, along with the ability to chat directly with other members.
Tim Cawood, CIOB’s head of digital, said: “The last 12 months have thrown sharply into focus the challenges businesses face in an increasingly digitally dependant world, with 58% (Gartner 2021) of the workforce reporting skill transformation in the last year.
“Whether you’re keeping in touch with peers, colleagues, and mentors; collaborating on your next project; or learning a new skill, the world of work is changing - and with it, professional membership.
“Building on our efforts to improve user engagement throughout 2019 and following on from our first digital AGM in June 2020, the CIOB's digital team set about engaging with our customers and members to understand how the CIOB can support this transition. We took lessons learned from surveys and workshops with hundreds of members and non-members to see how we could deliver the greatest value.
“Following on from this work and as of Wednesday 30 June 2021, we're pleased to announce CIOB Connect - our new mobile app.
“Our first version of the app will focus on a few key areas in which members have expressed a particular interest.”
