A far cry from a modern theme park day out, this ‘enchanted land’ set in the heart of the Norfolk broads among 50 acres of wood and marshland has been designed in keeping with the times when the landowners were also conservationists. Tom Blofeld, who took over the estate after his father retired, created a place like no other, which has received rave reviews from national journalists to happy families for his truly sustainable adventure park. In creating this magical world – which has school holiday visitor numbers in the thousands even on a rainy day – the specification of the products required careful consideration to meet the ethos of its founders.
AntiSlip Plus® timber decking was specified and supplied on over 1,000 square metres of walkways and other foot traffic areas at the park, including the main boardwalk. These areas required a solution that provided high levels of slip resistance, ease of maintenance, and suitability for high levels of visitor traffic. The European redwood decking, treated using Osmose Naturewood to BS8417:2011, was supplied with two grey Marley AntiSlip Plus® inserts to minimise the risk of slips and trips and will weather naturally to blend in and complement the boardwalk’s natural surroundings.
