Mace, the international construction and consultancy company, has reached the highest construction point on n2, the next phase of the Nova East scheme, a sustainable workspace based in London’s Westend.

Following Mace’s successful involvement on the completion of phase one, consisting of office space, Nova Food and The Nova Building, a residential building, Mace was also appointed by client Landsec on the next stage of the Nova masterplan and started work in July 2021.

n2 will provide 160,000 sq ft. of high-quality workplace - each floor features its own outdoor space, and the top level includes a spacious roof top garden with sweeping views across the capital.

Carbon reduction has been a key driver from delivery through to operation, targeting over 15% reduction in embodied carbon from a RIBA Stage 3 (developed design) baseline. It is on track to achieve BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating and a ‘WELL’ Building Standard to enhance occupant wellbeing

Nova is a new vibrant and dynamic destination in London’s Victoria which will provide exceptional sustainable workspaces. With excellent international transport links, it will bring together offices, apartments, and amenities, including restaurants, and bars enjoyed by local workers, residents and visitors.

Andy Jones, Managing Director of Major Projects, Mace said: “It is fantastic to continue our work on this phenomenal project and achieve a major milestone on the second phase of the Nova masterplan. The team have made excellent progress and our Net Zero Carbon mission has gone beyond delivery with sustainable behaviours embedded onsite. The project builds on our expertise to deliver high quality, mixed-used schemes and we look forward to reaching our next milestone.’’

David Heaford, Managing Director of Development at Landsec, said: “When we began our transformation of Victoria over 15 years ago we had ambitious plans to create a vibrant mixed-use space in the heart of London. Since then, the area has become a leading destination for global businesses, and we’re excited to be able to expand the amount of high-quality workspace on offer once n2 completes next year.”
