Polymer pipework manufacturer REHAU has announced the launch of new sizes for its RAUTITAN Stabil heating and plumbing multi-layer composite pipe (MLCP).
The pipework will now be available in 50-63mm formats, with new polymer compression sleeves also developed to support these applications. These new sizes in SDR11 pipework are able to achieve a 25% increase in flow rate over its Flex equivalent, while maintaining lower thermal expansion.
Moreover, the solution is still certified up to pressures of 10 bar for increased peace-of-mind, while unique compression sleeve technology using no O-rings guarantees security for the installation. The larger 50-63mm sizes are ideal for corridors and risers, and can be used for radiator and drinking water applications.
Franz Huelle, Head of Technical at REHAU Building Solutions, said: “Versality has always remained a core design principle for RAUTITAN, allowing it to be easily specified for a variety of applications. RAUTITAN is now sold in over 50 countries worldwide with over 900,000,000 compression sleeve joints sold.
“With the launch of these new sizes for the RAUTITAN Stabil range, we’re looking to take this versatility one step further, providing even wider scope for the use of RAUTITAN and cementing its position as the comprehensive MLCP solution. Many contractors who have previously used traditional pipework materials enjoy the benefits of multilayer pipework, so it is only natural we expanded our MLCP range to cater for this demand.”
This development follows the recent acquisition of independently-tested drinking water approval under KIWA’s KUKreg4 scheme for RAUTITAN Stabil sizes 16 to 63 and RAUTITAN Flex sizes 12 to 63, both certified to Level +1.
The solution’s smooth surfaces prevent the build-up of deposits in the pipe, which in turn ensures that water is not susceptible to microbial contamination from bacteria such as Legionella.
Franz concluded: “RAUTITAN has developed a reputation as a comprehensive, trusted solution due to its lack of O-rings, easy installation and visual inspection and the recent launch of lead-free fittings. The range continues to go from strength to strength, with KIWA’s drinking water approval and the launch of new 50-63mm formats the latest developments to affirm this. We hope that the pipework’s new traits will continue to enable new innovative heating and plumbing projects across the nation.”
