At this year's “ICONIC AWARD 2023: Innovative Architecture”, both the innovative EntriWorX EcoSystem door system and the Argus V60 sensor interlock from dormakaba have been awarded a "Winner" in the "Product- Building Technologies" category. "We are very pleased and proud to receive both awards from this neutral, international architecture and design competition, which certifies that our two systems offer design excellence and inspiring solutions for current challenges," emphasizes Uwe Eisele, Head of Marketing Germany at dormakaba.
The EntriWorX EcoSystem is an innovative hardware and software application that supports the planning, installation, and commissioning of access solutions along the building creation process, thus optimizing the building planning process. Architects, planners, fabricators, and operators can access the same planning data for a door in every performance phase. Planning processes, installation procedures, and operations are simplified by minimizing door configurations and digital networking components. Door solutions for fire protection, accessibility, or access control can be planned precisely and directly in accordance with standards and building regulations, thanks to predefined door templates.
The new compact Argus V60 sensor barrier offers security, elegance, and efficiency in a confined space. Thanks to modern sensor technology, this compact sensor barrier gives architects and users more freedom without compromising on personal protection and separation detection. With its housing dimensions of 2 x 240mm x 180mm and an interlock width of one meter, Argus V60 proves to be one of the smallest full-fledged sensor interlocks on the market and, with its wide range of color design variants, blends into the architecture like a piece of furniture. RFID readers, barcode scanners, or escape route components can be integrated.
At the award ceremony on 04 October 2023 in Munich, Bernhard Heitz, Strategic Product Design at dormakaba, presented the special prize donated by dormakaba in the "Architects of the Year" category to Sou Fujimoto Architects from Japan. "It was fantastic to get insights into the friendly and natural orientation of Sos Fujimoto's architecture," says Bernhard Heitz.
An independent and expert jury decides on awarding the "ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture." It is made up of representatives from the fields of architecture, interior design, design, and brand communication. The awards are given to visionary buildings, innovative products from the interior design and building technology sectors, and communication concepts from all areas of architecture, construction, real estate, and the manufacturing industry. The awards are regarded as an independent seal of quality of international standing for contemporary developments and design achievements.
