Top 10 UK housebuilder Keepmoat is celebrating the completion of a new housing development in Stockton-on-Tees, The Sycamores.
The scheme, delivered by the housebuilder in partnership with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Homes England and Thirteen Group, has delivered 143 new, high quality, energy-efficient homes, where the Victoria Estate previously stood.
The new development consists of a range of two, three and four bedroom houses and two bedroom homes. There was a range of products available to assist residents purchase a property on the new development such as ‘First Homes’ - there are also a number of properties on the development for affordable rent via Thirteen Group.
A complementary development of 14 new, two bedroom bungalows has already been delivered by the partnership on the former Elm House site.
The project has generated more than £7 million in social value, creating local jobs, training and apprenticeship opportunities. Ian Worgan, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat, North East, said: “We’re thrilled to be completing the delivery of this regeneration project in partnership with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
“The Sycamores has been designed to reflect the demand in the area, meeting local needs via affordable housing and contributing to the Council’s overall housing target. Our partnership reflects a unified vision of ambition and careful planning to deliver a great place to live.
“Throughout the duration of this site build, placemaking principles have been at the forefront of every decision and we’re thrilled to see residents moving into their quality, eco-friendly homes.”
Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing added: “The development of the former Victoria Estate and Elm House site was a key part of the Council’s vision for Stockton town centre with the aim of bringing much-needed, good quality housing to the heart of the town, so it’s exciting to see The Sycamores now complete.
“There is a demand for housing of varying tenures across the Borough and one of the Council’s priorities is to ensure that residents have access to well built, affordable housing in areas that suit their needs. We’re committed to working with private sector partners and developers to provide a range of excellent housing options. The final product is the start of things to come, not just in Stockton but across the wider Borough too.”

It has been a real joint effort, resulting in the delivery of a great mix of high quality homes in close proximity to Stockton High Street.
“Our properties at The Sycamores range from two-bedroom bungalows to four-bedroom houses, complementing the 14 bungalows we own on the former Elm House site nearby. All have been completed to a superb standard, providing fantastic homes for our customers.”
