New Model Institute for Technology & Engineering (NMITE) has announced that over 200 places will be available between January and March 2025 to individuals in Herefordshire on NMITE’s short courses thanks to a grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Courses include some of NMITE’s popular and award-winning TED (Technology, Engineering and Design) courses and ERFIT Enhanced Retrofit Fabric Improvement Training as well as new courses on topics such as Structured Problem Solving.

This initiative represents a considerable opportunity to the wider Herefordshire workforce to undertake high-quality CPD courses free of charge delivered via NMITE’s Centre for Advanced Timber Technology (CATT) and the Centre of Innovation and Future Skills (CIFS).

The courses are funded by the UK government (UK Shared Prosperity Fund) and are available to people working and living in Herefordshire

These innovative short courses focus on the sustainable built environment, leadership, and project management principles. Specialist courses offer a deep dive into subjects including enhanced retrofit, sustainability, advanced problem solving, and the implementation of environmentally friendly construction materials. Courses will be delivered online as well as hybrid (online and in person).

Steve Bertasso, Associate Professor NMITE said “These courses focus on the upskilling and reskilling of learners to aid in the delivery of a healthier built environment, to create more effective leaders and to develop stronger teams regardless of business sector. If you work or live within the Herefordshire district and believe there are any knowledge or skills gaps within your company, then take a look at what is on offer.

“This opportunity to advance your leadership skills or build a more effective team could be crucial in achieving your business goals for 2025.”
