Dimplex, a UK-headquartered global leader in electric heating and ventilation solutions, is set to showcase its cutting-edge Zeroth Energy System at Futurebuild 2025, stand N58
The system exemplifies Dimplex’s commitment to sustainable innovation, enabling developers to meet the stringent demands of Parts L, F, and O of the Building Regulations, whilst taking advantage of district heat networks.
The Zeroth Energy System offers a transformative approach to heating, cooling and hot water in multi-occupancy residential and mixed-use developments. At its core, the system employs an ambient loop maintained at around 25°C, powered by a central low-carbon plant or connected to a district heat network.
Within individual apartments, compact Zeroth units - comprising water-to-water heat pumps and integrated hot water cylinders - deliver highly efficient space heating, hot water and comfort cooling.
This innovative solution brings several key advantages over traditional high-temperature systems. By operating at low temperatures, the ambient loop drastically reduces heat losses, improving system efficiency and minimising the risk of overheating in communal areas. Developers can also benefit from reduced insulation requirements and smaller plant room designs, freeing up valuable space while lowering costs.
Flexibility is a hallmark of the Zeroth Energy System, accommodating a range of heating and cooling emitters, including underfloor heating, radiators and fan coil units. Its adaptability makes it an ideal choice for both new-build developments and deep retrofit projects. Supplied pre-wired and pre-plumbed, Zeroth units are designed for easy installation into standard cupboards and can even be incorporated into off-site manufactured utility pods, streamlining the construction process.
Beyond technical efficiency, the system aligns with the evolving energy landscape. It integrates seamlessly with low-carbon energy sources and enables participation in demand-side response programs. This allows building managers to adjust energy consumption to take advantage of off-peak electricity tariffs and surplus renewable energy. This not only lowers residents’ energy bills but also supports grid stability and reduces carbon emissions.
The Zeroth Energy System is just one part of Dimplex’s exhibit at Futurebuild, and other innovative products will also be on display, including a new Monobloc air-source heat pump for housing developments and the Edel hot water heat pump, a compact solution for smaller projects. Together, these technologies highlight Dimplex’s expertise in delivering future-ready solutions that meet the needs of modern living while driving progress toward net-zero carbon goals.
Visit Dimplex at Futurebuild 2025 on stand N58 to experience the Zeroth Energy System and discover how it can revolutionise energy efficiency and sustainability in residential developments.
