Arup, a global design and engineering consultancy, and Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm, recently joined leading digital platform PlanRadar at a key industry event in Spain, highlighting a shared commitment to advancing the construction industry towards a digital future.
The event, which gathered customers including Arup and construction giant Avintia, alongside guests such as Eversheds Sutherland, showcased the industry's vital shift from outdated paper-based systems to advanced cloud-based solutions.
Discussions emphasised how digital tools, like PlanRadar, are essential for tackling evolving sector challenges, enhancing project quality through comprehensive data traceability, and improving dispute resolution, ultimately leading to significant risk reduction.

Arup has integrated PlanRadar into its digital toolkit following a thorough evaluation of various solutions. Sara Briz, Project Manager at Arup, commented, "When evaluating tools, we aim for impartiality and seek out the best fit for our needs. In this case, that led us to PlanRadar. We chose PlanRadar for its ability to deliver process improvement, automation, and comprehensive data traceability. This aligns with our broader AI strategy, enabling our teams to focus on high-value creative and strategic work while maintaining complete digital documentation."
Eversheds Sutherland, invited to share its perspective from the legal side, highlighted the increasing importance of establishing robust digital documentation trails, particularly as AI-driven legal processes influence construction disputes. Andrés Ponce, Legal Director at Eversheds Sutherland, observed: "The use of these types of tools significantly reduces the potential for disputes between stakeholders, creating a more collaborative environment and greater productivity in project development."
Commenting on the event, Rob Norton, UK Director at PlanRadar, said: "Gathering perspectives from leading firms like Arup and Eversheds, alongside our valued customers like Avintia, at our recent event in Spain, highlights a pivotal moment in construction's digital evolution. We are creating an environment that can deliver benefits including enhanced project quality, comprehensive traceability, significant risk reduction, and improved productivity across the construction value chain."
These discussions build on PlanRadar’s demonstrated success with major industry players like Avintia, which has successfully onboarded over 10,000 subcontractors.
Looking ahead, PlanRadar’s future events intend to further explore the impact of AI on construction.
