Crown Paints has been introduced as the paint partner at the brand-new Material Source Studio London, an inspirational hub for the design community, located just a short walk from Farringdon station.
At the new Clerkenwell studio, Crown Paints offers visitors the opportunity to get hands-on with colour. The space features a display of all 160 shades included in Crown’s Colour Edit – a curated collection developed by Crown’s colour experts to inspire and support architects and designers when specifying palettes for every type of project, with pure paint samples available to help designers experiment, moodboard and develop ideas for their next project.

A dedicated mood board area encourages creativity and collaboration, complete with a lighting unit that simulates cool, day, and warm light environments. This setup allows designers to see how colours transform under different conditions, bringing every concept to life in an inspiring, tactile environment.
The highlight of Crown Paints’ installation showcases a 3-dimensional mural inspired by Choreography – a palette from their 2025/26 Colour Insights collection designed to invoke movement and adaptive design that supports different sensory experiences within a space. Featuring warm, muted tones and deeper shades that evoke calm, it creates a cocooning atmosphere that brings together a fluid mix of hues that move in harmony, reflecting the balance, rhythm and flow of contemporary design.
Alongside its aesthetic appeal, the Choreography palette builds on Crown’s research into inclusive and human-centred design, including its recently published report on Designing for Neurodiversity.
Claire Fenton, Head of Trade Marketing at Crown Paints said: “Our presence at Material Source London marks an exciting moment for Crown Paints as we establish a clear and visible presence in the capital.
“As a key Material Source partner in London, Manchester and Glasgow, we’re proud to be supporting architects and designers across the UK. And by giving architects, designers and specifiers access to real paint samples, mood boarding space and our latest colour insights, we’re ensuring that Crown is part of the conversation shaping the future of the built environment.”
As part of its partnership with Material Source London, Crown Paints will use the studio as a dynamic hub for creativity and learning. The space will host bookable CPD sessions – with the first confirmed as Colour Notation and Technical Colour – alongside opportunities to book dedicated meetings to explore the latest insights into colour on a one-to-one basis. Together, these initiatives highlight Crown’s ongoing commitment to supporting architects, designers and specifiers with both inspiration and technical expertise.
Material Source London is a new collaborative destination for the built environment and creative industries, designed to bring together leading suppliers, innovators and designers. The Studio provides a unique environment to explore materials and trends first-hand, fostering creativity and collaboration together with likeminded partners.
