UK rooflight manufacturer Roof Maker is celebrating a double shortlisting at the Build It Awards 2026, with two of its latest innovations recognised in the Best Cladding or Roofing Product category.

Launched in 2026, the Hinged Slimline® Roof Lantern and Luxlite® Plus demonstrate the company's commitment to combining contemporary design, advanced engineering and practical functionality. Both products offer innovative solutions for bringing natural light and ventilation into modern homes.

Hinged Slimline® Roof Lantern

As the market's first hinged-opening roof lantern, the Hinged Slimline® introduces a new approach to overhead ventilation. Its distinctive 40-degree roof angle and ultra-slim glazing profiles create an elegant architectural feature while maximising daylight and uninterrupted sky views.

The lantern features synchronised 700N 24V DC chain actuators, delivering smooth, reliable opening and secure positioning against wind pressure. A wall-mounted multi-channel control unit can operate up to 15 rooflights and optional blinds, while Wi-Fi connectivity enables smartphone and home automation control. A rain sensor comes as standard, automatically closing the rooflights when rainfall is detected. The actuators are also backed by an upgraded 3-year warranty, which provides homeowners with added peace of mind.

Manufactured in Roof Maker's UK factory, the lantern combines marine-grade powder-coated aluminium with structurally bonded toughened glass. A 60mm thermal break enhances insulation, while concealed motors maintain its minimalist appearance. Each unit arrives fully assembled and factory-glazed, which reduces installation time on site.

Luxlite® Plus Fully Opening Rooflight

Building on the award-winning Luxlite® design, Luxlite® Plus brings a fully opening solution to pitched roofs with frameless internal aesthetics and impressive functionality. Powered by heavy-duty 3000N 24V DC push-rod actuators, the rooflight opens to almost 90 degrees, providing extensive ventilation and convenient roof access. Its wall-mounted remote control allows homeowners to adjust the opening effortlessly.

Triple glazing comes as standard, with Ug-values as low as 0.5 W/m²K. A thermally broken aluminium frame further helps minimise heat loss. Suitable for roof pitches between 16 and 75 degrees, Luxlite® Plus features a fully welded aluminium apron and integrated flashing for effective water management. Available in portrait and landscape configurations, it accommodates various roofing materials and architectural requirements.

Lasting Quality and Value

Both products feature Roof Maker's factory-manufactured Insulated Glass Units, backed by a market-leading 20-year unit seal warranty and an expected lifespan of up to 30 years. Easy-clean glazing reduces regular maintenance to save homeowners time and effort. Combining high-quality materials with practical features, both rooflights offer reliable performance and long-term value.
