Taylor Maxwell used Clerkenwell Design Week to bring architects, designers and leading suppliers together at its London showroom, creating an opportunity to explore the latest developments in brick, façade and rainscreen solutions.
Among the activities hosted at the showroom were live engobing demonstrations from Camtech Building Products and Caprice Bricks, which invited visitors to step beyond the sample board and explore how bespoke brick finishes can be created.
The hands-on demonstrations gave architects the opportunity to create their own engobed samples and see how subtle shifts in colour, tone and application can influence the character of a façade. The sessions sparked conversations around texture, bespoke finishes and the role brick can play in giving buildings a more distinct identity.
Alex Hutchinson, Area Sales Manager at Camtech Building Products, said, “Clerkenwell Design Week was a fantastic platform to showcase the creative possibilities of engobed brickwork. Through our live engobing demonstrations, we were able to engage directly with architects and designers, sparking conversations around colour, texture and bespoke façade design.
“It was incredibly rewarding to see such enthusiasm for the process and the opportunities it offers for creating unique architectural identities. Thank you to Taylor Maxwell for the opportunity.”
Marc van Rijn, Sales Director at Caprice Bricks, added, “Clerkenwell Design Week at the Taylor Maxwell showroom was a fantastic event. We had the pleasure of inviting architects to create their own engobed brick finishes, which led to inspiring conversations and creative ideas. Thank you to everyone who joined us and explored the possibilities of customised brick design. It was a great experience and we would love to do this again next year.”
The interactive format highlighted how showroom events can support more practical conversations between suppliers and specifiers, particularly where architects are looking for bespoke, project-specific façade solutions.
Taylor Maxwell’s Clerkenwell showroom also featured Tenmat, Swisspearl, Northcot Brick, Forterra, wienerberger, Ibstock, Lowie Bricks, Vogelensangh®, Crest Brick Slate & Tile Ltd, Telling Rainscreens and The Bespoke Brick Company.
For Taylor Maxwell, the event provided a platform to connect architects and designers with specialist manufacturers, supporting early-stage discussion around material choice, finish and façade design.
