Mitsubishi Electric has announced the expansion of its highly efficient and environmentally friendly Ecodan R290 heat pump range.
Following the successful launch of the 5kW and 6kW models in October 2023, the range now extends to include 8.5kW, 10kW, and 12kW models—offering a powerful, low-carbon heating solution for larger homes and properties with higher heat loss.
With a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 0.02, the Ecodan R290 heat pump, manufactured in the UK, is an environmentally responsible choice for home heating. By utilising the natural refrigerant R290, Mitsubishi Electric continues its commitment to sustainability while ensuring high performance and efficiency
The new Ecodan models deliver flow temperatures of up to 75°C, making them ideal for properties that cannot undergo extensive fabric upgrades or insulation improvements. Additionally, they are fully compatible with existing microbore pipework, allowing homeowners to transition to renewable heating without major system overhauls.
Designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions, the Ecodan R290 heat pump operates efficiently even in extreme cold—continuing to perform in temperatures as low as -25°C. No matter where you live in the UK, this advanced heat pump ensures reliable and effective heating all year round.
Recognising the need for discreet, low-noise solutions, Mitsubishi Electric has engineered the Ecodan R290 heat pump with ultra-quiet technology. This has earned the system Quiet Mark accreditation, ensuring a peaceful home environment without compromising on performance.
The new range is fully compatible with all Ecodan cylinders, making it a versatile solution for new and existing heating systems. Additionally, it incorporates Mitsubishi Electric’s latest Flow Temperature Controller – 7 and MELCloud connectivity, enabling homeowners to manage their heating with ease, ensuring optimal comfort and efficiency.
