For anyone designing a glass rainscreen system for external cladding or as an internal wall lining, this CPD provides information on the principles of a rainscreen system, the typical build-up, and the many different design options available for a unique glass facade.

Sto is known first and foremost for their cement-free plaster/render finishes and reinforcement which, when used as part of our external wall insulation systems (EWIS) and rainscreen cladding systems, offer a huge choice of attractive, durable, energy-saving and hence cost-effective options for refurbishment or new-build construction.

For over 10 years we have been manufacturing and designing glass rainscreen systems and we know that glass cladding has many benefits, not least the great design freedom it gives to architects and designers to visually translate their ideas into stunning buildings. Yet the world is going through turbulent times, and with transport terminals and public buildings often viewed as targets for terrorist attacks, glass might seem an unlikely material to use.
