Brett Landscaping is showcasing its extensive range of paving solutions at Ecobuild 2013 in the British Precast Pavilion, including the launch of PermCalc, a new calculator tool to help landscapers to get the best sustainability results for their developments.
The company will also be displaying samples from its comprehensive range of sustainable landscaping products for commercial and domestic applications, including its range of Texitone ECO flag paving which incorporates a minimum 65% of recycled materials to provide a unique aesthetic.
Brett is using Ecobuild to officially launch its unique PermCalc design tool (www.permcalc.co.uk), which has been purpose developed by the company to simplify the design of permeable pavements as well as enabling quick cost comparisons at the start of a project. This new addition will help designers with ‘what if’ scenarios and help to drive the Brett Landscaping portfolio of permeable paving solutions.
These have been specifically designed to provide manageable, environmentally-friendly surface water management systems. Permeable paving meets the requirements of landscapers in terms of the fast dispersal of water from surfaces, as well as the removal of pollutants before the water is drained into the soil.
By removing the need for filtration traps, permeable paving from Brett Landscaping requires minimum maintenance. Recent tests – as demonstrated on the Brett Landscaping YouTube channel – confirm that the company’s permeable paving solutions continue to perform even on a lightly maintained, eight-year-old site. The video shows that, when 400 gallons of water was poured onto a small area of paving no ponding or run-off occurred within an eight minute period.
At the same time, Brett’s commitment to eye-catching design and high-quality installation means that specifiers and landscapers can make permeable paving an integral part of aesthetically pleasing paved environments.
“Measurable, effective sustainability is a must in order for businesses to meet their social and environmental responsibilities, but that doesn’t mean it needn’t also look good,” explains Andrew Gill, Marketing Manager at Brett Landscaping. “Our approach is always to consider the whole picture to provide customers with integrated permeable paving solutions that meet all requirements.”
The decision to exhibit on the British Precast Pavilion underlines Brett’s commitment to working with key trade associations such as the British Precast Concrete Federation (BPCF). “As longstanding members of the BPCF, we are delighted to support their work in promoting the sustainable benefits of precast by bringing Brett Landscaping into the Pavilion,” confirms Andrew Gill.
“This year it is particularly exciting to be associated with the BPCF as they launch the new National Highway Sector Scheme for the Installation, Maintenance and Repair of Modular Paving through Interlay, which offers a major step forward in the use of our products within the industry,” he adds.
