Scotland’s Rural College’s (SRUC) Elmwood Campus in Fife has commissioned leading disabled toileting solutions provider Clos-o-Mat to supply an install the hygiene room to accommodate student needs.
Strategically located on the College’s ground floor between the main atrium and the College’s designated autism base, the room includes a mobile hydraulic changing bench, height adjustable washbasin, hoist and Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita ‘wash and dry’ toilet.
The height adjustability of the washbasin means it can be raised or lowered to facilitate use by ambulant or wheelchair users. The Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita, with its in-built douching and drying, means the user can toilet and be clean without the need for manual cleansing with toilet tissue themselves or by a carer.
SRUC Elmwood’s estates manager Gordon Ogilvie explained, “We are having more and more students with profound needs, and wanted a multi-purpose room that would meet most students’ needs.”
Founded over 50 years ago, Clos-o-Mat is the UK’s largest supplier of disabled toileting solutions, and the only one to offer in house design guidance, supply, install, commissioning and maintenance.
