The anticipated influx of higher than average visitor numbers to London for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics has boosted the need for good inexpensive hotel accommodation.
Leading brand, Holiday Inn, identified their site at Earls Court for an extension to one of their “Express” venues and main contractor Vascroft Construction Ltd chose Cardiff based MIB Group to carry out the construction.
Initially, this involved MIB Framespace Structures building the envelope from an internal Light Gauge Steel structure and using Met SIP panels as exterior walls.
Sales & Technical Manager Dean Bennett who supervised the work on site said: “We were able to erect the three-storey structure in just four weeks thanks to our own in-house design and manufacturing facility.”
Finally, MIB Fascades installed the external finish of render and brickslips. Commercial Director Liam Daley has been involved throughout the scheme and added: “The Framespace Structures system lends itself to a wide range of external finishes to offer the client.”
