For this reason, Huxley Golf was called on to create, what is arguably the most comprehensive all-weather short game practice area in Europe.
In September 2013, work began to overhaul the resort’s golf training centre. With guidance from the experienced team at Huxley Golf using their highest quality all- weather surfaces, Club La Santa now offers a magnificent state of the art practice facility. The vast Huxley Golf installation features an 18 hole putting green that is approximately 600 sq yards (500 sq metres), a 300 sq yard (250 sq metres) short game pitching green incorporating two flag positions, a large bunker and tee area, a further 150 sq yard (125 sq metre) practice putting green and three triple-bay practice nets. Installation went smoothly, despite the scale of the project and the island location.

Lars Aarup, Director of Huxley Golf Andalucía, worked with the team at Club La Santa to design and install the extensive new facilities - a project he relished with his many years’ experience as a landscape gardener and a keen sportsman himself. He said: “What we’ve created here is extraordinary! I’ve not seen anything else quite like it and I’m proud to have been involved. Not only will guests benefit, but the Club will too since the materials we use are top-of-the-range and will stand the test of time, as well as coping with a demanding climate. The minimal maintenance required will be a real time and cost saver for the grounds staff too.”
