New phase at Lime Walk provides 31 new homes

The next phase of a successful housing partnership scheme is under construction at Lincolnshire’s Lime Walk that will see the addition of 31 new homes for local people.

Situated in the market town of Long Sutton, the new affordable phase is being built in partnership between Westleigh Partnership Homes and registered provider L&H Homes and is expected to be complete by June 2014.

Consisting of four one bedroom apartments, 13 two bedroom house and 14 three bedroom house, 24 properties will be rented, whilst the remaining seven will be available through shared ownership. The new homes will also become part of an existing £4.5m development that has already seen 40 new houses and bungalows allocated to people with a local connection to the area.

Built to a high environmental standard, constructed using Westleigh’s Westframe timber frame and by implementing energy efficient measures, residents can expect to move into a high quality affordable home. Those that move in will also benefit from landscaped public space and a children’s recreational area provided by Westleigh Partnership Homes.

Gary Turner, Head of Investments & Partnership at Westleigh Developments comments, “There is a clear need for high quality affordable properties in the local area and so after the successful completion on phase one at Lime Walk, we are pleased to be able to continue working closely together with L&H Homes. The 31 new homes will no doubt prove as popular as the first phase of development with local people and we look forward to the spring when the homes will be ready to provide a warm welcome to new residents.”

Mike Hardy, Managing Director, L&H Homes, said, “After the success of the first phase of development at Lime Walk, we’re delighted to provide additional high quality, affordable new homes for the local families in Long Sutton. We’ve built a great relationship with Westleigh over the years and it’s great to see the scheme approaching completion.’’

Westleigh Partnership Homes are now part of the Homes & Communities Agency Delivery Partner Panel on both the Midlands and Northern lots and work closely together with housing associations to build affordable new homes throughout the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire.
