Leading UK PIR manufacturer Recticel Insulation is adding its voice to a leading organisation in the home renovation industry.
The company's technical specialist Paul Forrester sits on the steering group of the NHIC (National Home Improvement Council) which for more than 40 years has maintained a close liaison with Government, local authorities, housing associations, private householders and landlords as well as product manufacturers and service providers.
As the UK suffers the legacy of Europe's oldest and least thermally efficient housing stock, the council provides an important source of impartial advice and information on all manner of home improvements - of which insulation is a key consideration.
In his NHIC capacity, Paul attends bi-monthly steering group meetings working alongside companies such as British Gas, associations such as the NFRC, and accreditation providers such as NAPIT for building services.
With climate change and energy prices generally, and the cessation of the Government's Green Deal specifically, at the forefront of many people's minds, Paul is finding his background working with specifiers, distributors and contractors is playing a key part in the NHIC's retrofit and refurbishment agenda.
Paul said: "Having managed the technical services help desk and dealt with insulation enquiries from a wide range of customers throughout the UK, I enjoy bringing that experience to the NHIC and contributing to its customer-led focus.
"Recticel Insulation is just one part of an expanding NHIC membership and we are seeing the benefits of that. As well as making new contacts within the wider construction industry, we have been able to forge closer working ties with organisations such as Local Authority Building Control (LABC)."
As well as sitting on the steering group and interacting with decision makers to get the best results for consumers, Recticel Insulation also supports NHIC initiatives such as the annual awards which highlight and reward construction excellence.
