Worcester's newest heating controls make perfect sense

Leading manufacturer, Worcester Bosch Group has launched a new family of stylish heating controls, offering further choice for homeowners looking for the ultimate levels of comfort from their heating system.

Comprising two wired heating controls as well as a solar module, the Greenstar Sense I and Sense II combine premium efficiency and a sophisticated design – creating a range of heating controls which will provide maximum control over a property’s heating system while boosting its environmental credentials.

The range replaces Worcester’s successful series of FX controls, and makes use of a number of energy saving features that will enable installers to enhance the heating efficiency of a property and help monitor its energy consumption.

With new classifications for controls having been introduced last year under the Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive, it is easier than ever for installers to discuss with customers a heating system’s rating, and demonstrate the benefits of different products. The new Greenstar Sense II, when installed as a room thermostat, provides an uplift of up to 4%, supplying an immediate boost to the efficiency of a home.

Feedback from those within the industry has performed an important role in the development of the Sense range, meaning that installers can use existing room thermostat wires to fit the new high efficiency controls. The controls can be either wall-mounted or fixed to the boiler fascia, offering even more flexibility and convenience for those working with the products day to

The Greenstar Sense I and II controls echo the features of Worcester’s popular Greenstar Comfort controls; however, thanks to being directly wired to the boiler’s printed circuit board (PCB), the Sense range takes its power supply from the boiler, meaning that there is never any need to replace batteries. This offers a huge advantage for those who desire a particularly low maintenance heating control, or in situations where battery power levels may not be under observation.
