Building materials manufacturer, Aggregate Industries, has successfully supplied walling and roofing products to Redrow’s prestigious development, Elements at Cerney on the Water, in South Cerney in Gloucestershire.

The 124 home development features luxury four and five bedroom properties, located on the northern edge of Bradleys Lake in the Cotswold Water Park – a site formerly owned by Aggregate Industries. Each property has been carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, with homes arranged in an arc around the water’s edge, providing each a southerly aspect and open views across the lake.

Aggregate Industries supplied a range of products, including Bradstone walling blocks and roofing tiles. Rough Dressed walling in Buff was specified for exterior walls as a cost effective alternative to natural stone, while Masterblock concrete blocks were used for the structural build.

Conservation roofing tiles were specified to help meet the stringent demands of the conservation planning area. Visually authentic, the reconstructed stone roof tiles provided a viable alternative to natural stone slates, and were supplied in a full range of diminishing lengths and random widths for an authentic appearance.

Jeremy Lee, Sales Director for Aggregate Industries’ Building Products, comments: “We’ve worked with Redrow for a number of years but this contract was particularly special to us as the build was taking place on a site formerly home to one of our manufacturing plants.

“We were able to offer a full solution to Redrow, providing Masterblock concrete blocks, Bradstone walling and Bradstone roofing as a complete package. We were also able to deliver the volumes required of a project of this size – more than 100 houses delivered over four years – and our close proximity to the development helped improve the sustainability credentials of the build programme.

“Our products, all reconstructed stone, not only provide an aesthetically authentic alternative to natural stone but also provide an incredibly cost effective solution.”
