Howells Patent Glazing is proud to introduce the new Horizon Pergola, a premium outdoor living system engineered as a year-round structure for high-end residential and commercial schemes.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the Horizon Pergola allows architects and designers to create a dedicated outdoor living space – providing shelter from sun and typical weather conditions. The system draws on Howells’ 50+ years’ experience in structural glazing.

“Our products are already specified on some of the country’s most prestigious buildings,” says Tracey Jackson, Business Development Manager for Howells Patent Glazing. “The Horizon Pergola represents a natural extension of our daylighting solutions. By designing a freestanding, permanent structure, we’re giving designers the flexibility to position high-specification outdoor living spaces anywhere within a domestic or commercial setting.”
The Horizon Pergola has been developed to withstand the demands of the British weather. The standard configuration complies with EN 1991 for typical wind and snow loads, satisfying the most rigorous of specifications.
Visually, it offers clean, architectural lines, featuring an integrated guttering system with downpipes neatly routed along the posts.
The roof uses Howells’ proven aluminium glazing bar technology, supplied with 8.8mm laminated tinted glass roofing as standard to ensure safety and uninterrupted views of the sky. The minimal 5-degree pitch provides effective water run-off while maintaining a sleek, low profile. 10mm polycarbonate or unglazed options are available on request.

The pergola system is supplied powder coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey Matt as standard or can be specified in any standard RAL colour to suit bespoke project requirements.
Available in four, six and eight pane options, at 717mm centres, the pergola spans between 2.9m and 5.7m, with a projection of 2.5m.
Each pergola is custom-made to order typically on a 4-6 week lead time. It is a supply only product, unless otherwise agreed. Delivered to site (kerbside), the pergola must be installed by a competent person onto a suitable structural base. An instruction manual, all standard fixings and post base shoes are included. Fixing anchors are available upon request, but the installer must verify suitability for their specific site conditions.
