Komfort has developed a new 44mm double-glazed door that can be integrated across all of its partition systems.
Sonik provides a stylish internal door solution with superior acoustic performance. Guidance laid out by the British Council for Offices says doors should be a minimum of 35dB(Rw) to prevent loud speech being audible. The Sonik goes above and beyond this guidance by being certified up to 38dB(Rw).
Matt Peake, Design and Development Manager said: “Sonik is a great addition to our range that will make a positive difference to office interiors. Its acoustic characteristics and design features help to create bright, peaceful working environments that staff can thrive in.”
The hinged Sonik.H option is capable of achieving 3m in height while the pivoted Sonik.P door can be installed at a height of up to 2.7m (with a 3m high option imminent). Komfort’s experienced team of specification managers and designers are on hand to work with architects and contractors to ensure it is configured to meet the specific needs of each project.
Sonik is supplied ready to hang and is up to four times quicker to install than traditional timber doorsets, which means valuable time can be saved during an office fit out. It can also be provided with a variety of ironmongery options, including intelligent wireless access control systems with no need for an electrician to install.
The doors were recently installed alongside Komfort’s Polar double-glazed partitioning in Grimsby’s new Business and Community Hub, a flexible professional space designed for meetings, seminars, workshops and community events.
Sonik doors were integrated seamlessly into the office design which Richard Mair of project architects JR Architects praised as: “Modern, stylish and functional, it creates a uniform identity throughout, enhancing the light and sense of space captured by the architecture of the new office suites.”
