RIBA Competitions is delighted to announce CF Møller as the winners of a Competitive Interview for the South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. The winning team will now work with the Trust to develop the design for the new inpatient and related accommodation to be developed on the Springfield Site in Wandsworth, London.

CF Møller was selected from a very strong shortlist which also included (in alphabetical order): Allford Hall Monaghan Morris; Allies & Morrison; Feilden Clegg Bradley; Henley Halebrown Rorrison; David Morley; Penoyre & Prasad; Reiach & Hall.

John Jenner, Greenhill Jenner Architects and RIBA Adviser for the Competition said:
“After a number of first class submissions by some of the UK's leading practices, the Trust have selected CF Møller as architects to work on their regeneration project at Springfield Hospital in Wandsworth, London. At the moment Danish design is thriving in an ever wider number of fields and Møller's will bring their considerable track record and experience of designing high quality health environments to this very important project.''

Robert Barr, Director of Estates at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) said: “We are delighted that CF Møller have won this hard fought RIBA competition. Their designs show innovation and quality of the highest standard. There were a number of outstanding architects who participated in the competition and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to submit proposals.

The Trust is excited at the opportunity to work with CF Møller to redevelop the Victorian Springfield Hospital site into a modern mental health facility, bringing exception design and innovative sustainability that will fit the needs of our patients, carers, service users and staff.”

Peter Molyneux, Chair of SWLSTG said:
"We have always been clear that our overriding motivation in pursuing this project is our duty of care to the people we serve.

"I want to reiterate our commitment to work with local partners and stakeholders in delivering a landmark development, combining both the quality of health facilities which we all expect for our families and friends and lasting benefits for the community. We will begin a process of engagement after the summer holiday period, to ensure that as many local people as possible can take part and share their views as the regeneration programme moves forward.
