IBI Group, architects for the new £20 million States of Jersey Police Headquarters has selected Rok-Regal Construction Limited as preferred contractor to build this hi-tech facility.
The Assistant Treasury and Resources Minister, Deputy Eddie Noel said: “This is another important step that brings the development of the first purpose built Police HQ in Jersey’s history closer to reality.”
IBI Group’s design incorporates state-of-the-art technology that will help support advancements in policing. The five storey, 7200m2 police headquarters includes a 20-cell custody suite, open plan operational support areas to allow agile working, a central control room and specialist CSI facilities.
“The new custody suite incorporates the very latest systems allowing effective round-the-clock monitoring of detainees to ensure the needs of ‘at-risk’ detainees are met,” said IBI Group’s Justice Lead Mike Richardson.
Construction will begin on site in October 2014 with the facility ready for occupation by the end of 2016.
