Work is underway on the first Jablite retrofit project funded by the Department of Energy and Climate Change/Technology Strategy Board, Invest in Innovative Refurb fund.
Jablite won the funding to run a non-domestic retrofit trial of Jablite’s innovative Dynamic external wall insulation system. The installation is on Foots Cray Offices in the London Borough of Bexley.
Once the trial is complete, Jablite will be able to take an independently monitored, TSB-verified, case study of Dynamic External insulation to local authorities and commercial property owners - many of whom are looking for retrofit solutions for their existing property stocks.
“Improving energy efficiency and cutting carbon emissions whilst maintaining good air qualities are all key concerns top for large organisations, local authorities and facilities managers,” comments David Teasdale, Jablite Sales & Marketing Director.
“It is no surprise that the Technology Strategy Board is interested in testing Jablite Dynamic which promises positive advantages over other retrofit insulation solutions because of its specially-designed ventilation system.”
The installation of Jablite Dynamic at Foots Cray offices follows seven months of monitoring of the existing thermal conductivity and air quality in the offices, so that a comparison of ‘before’ and ‘after’ can made.
Once the installation is complete, monitoring will continue for the next 12 months followed by a rigorous analysis of the results to judge the performance of Jablite Dynamic External insulation.
“The funding from the Invest in Innovative Refurb fund gives us a unique opportunity to put our Dynamic External Wall Insulation System on trial using independent monitoring,” explains Neil Marsden, Jablite’s Business Development Manager.
“We are confident that the results will demonstrate the superior thermal conductivity performance of Jablite Dynamic insulation and how that contributes to the overall energy efficiency of this building.
“In addition, we can prove how our unique Dynamic insulation improves air quality during the winter and summer months, as well as providing cooling during the summer.”
