Kingspan Insulation has used BRE Global to assess and successfully certify all its sites across the UK under the four leading business assessment schemes.
Managing Director of BRE Global, Richard Hardy, presented Kingspan Insulation with compliance certificates for each of the four key standards assessed and certified by BRE Global: ISO 9001 for management systems; ISO 14001 for environmental management systems; OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety management systems; and BES 6001 for responsible sourcing of materials.
Having one certification body carry out the assessments under all four schemes as part of an integrated service makes the process of gaining certification smoother and more efficient. John Garbutt, Marketing Director at Kingspan said: “Achieving certification across all four schemes opens doors to a wider marketplace for Kingspan. By working through the whole process with just one assessment body, BRE Global, we have been able to complete the process swiftly and effectively, and avoided the duplication of effort that would otherwise have been needed.

With increased attention on sustainable development, being able to show that materials used have been responsibly sourced is also an important factor, providing significant market differentiation for products. The BES 6001 responsible sourcing standard for construction products was developed by the BRE Group in partnership with a wide range of industry stakeholders. It provides a holistic approach to managing a product from the point at which component materials are sourced, through manufacture, processing and delivery to customers.
