JELD-WEN has reported a huge amount of interest in its innovative new designs of windows and doors at this year's Ecobuild show, held at ExCel in London.
One of the highlights of the show was JELD-WEN's Vintage conservation window, which offers a high level of thermal performance, but is almost indistinguishable from the traditional single-glazed window styles found in period properties. Specifiers and developers who visited the JELD-WEN stand recognised how it would help to secure planning in conservation areas, as well as providing an affordable solution to bespoke joinery requirements.
JELD-WEN also generated significant interest in its DreamVu 68 composite doorsets, which feature a robust 68mm thick design, making them ideal for social housing refurbishments or new builds, where very low U values are required. The doorsets can achieve U values down to 0.7 W/m2K, which means they can meet the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6 (zero carbon). Bringing together the very best of its DreamVu collection, JELD-WEN also showcased alongside its DreamVu 68 doorset, the innovative DreamVu window and French patio door from the same collection.
Also on display from its windows range were JELD-WEN's popular vertical sliding sash timber window and Hi Profile Combi window, both of which are renowned for their aesthetics and high performance.
Another great talking point for JELD-WEN this year was its SecureFit flush timber entrance doorset, which is now available in a 60 minute fire rated version (FD60). The doorset has already being widely specified for social housing developments, as it provides a high level of resistance to intruders, making it suitable for use in high rise apartments or high density urban areas.
JELD-WEN set itself apart from its competitors by releasing details of its 60 year guarantee, which is available as an option on its fully factory finished windows. This unbeatable guarantee was very well received, particularly by social housing providers, as it matches the predicted lifespan of new build properties.
Georgina Campbell, Marketing Manager for JELD-WEN, said: "We had a great deal of interest at the show in our new styles of windows, as well as our external doorsets. All are designed to help developers to meet the higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes, as well as to significantly enhancing the aesthetics and appeal of their properties."
The company's new range of internal moulded doors were also well received at the show, as they represent one of the major developments in moulded door styles for many years. The three new styles: the Newark, Linea and Cube designs, each of which boast attractive glazed options, display simple, contemporary styling that will enhance and add value to a home. Each of the new moulded internal doors is available with FD30 or FD60 fire door options, making them ideal for commercial or public sector projects.
JELD-WEN also generated lots of interest in its exciting Advance-line range of stunning American white oak veneer doors, which are designed to add character and style to a property. These high quality doors offer larger lippings (15mm) than most oak doors, providing better trimming options. There are a wide range of styles available including country, classic and contemporary to meet project requirements. Internal doors are also available with a 30 minute fire door option under the BWF-CERTIFIRE scheme and all doors are supplied with full chain of custody certification.
Georgina Campbell adds: "Developers and specifiers are looking for windows and doors that combine aesthetics, performance and positive environmental credentials and this is certainly what we have to offer in our range."
