The premium woodcare brand Sadolin has launched the seventh episode in its series of online video guides - written and produced to help customers to make the most of its extensive range of woodstains, varnishes, oils and preparatory products for timber.
Sadolin woodcare systems are widely specified for their durability and long-lasting decorative and protective benefits.
The latest episode, “This is Sadolin – Woodcare for the long term” provides advice for all those concerned with the maintenance of timber and joinery on how to get the very best performance out of every Sadolin woodcare system and thereby extend the maintenance cycle.
Sadolin Classic and Extra, Ultra Translucent Woodstain and the opaque Superdec system are widely specified for use on window frames and sills as they cure to a finish that will expand and contract with the underlying substrate in hot and cold conditions and resist cracking, flaking and peeling.
The video, which features Sean Thompson, of Sadolin Technical Services, explains that these products can provide finishes that will provide this type of joinery with up to five, seven and eight years’ protection respectively, before requiring a maintenance coat.
Sean highlights potential problem areas such as arris edges, inadequate surface run-offs and unsealed water traps which all need to be addressed by the team before any coatings are applied.
“This is Sadolin – Woodcare for the long term” is the concluding episode in Sadolin’s current series of videos which can all now be viewed on the Sadolin Woodcare YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/SadolinWoodcare or on the Sadolin website www.sadolin.co.uk
Sean said: “We’ve covered everything from timber preparation, system selection, application techniques, working with colour, and caring for wooden cladding and interior floors, and we hope that everyone involved in the specification and application of our woodcare products will find them useful.”
Specifiers can also use PaintSpec Finder the free on-line resource - launched last year by Crown Paints at www.crownpaintspec.co.uk - to generate tailor-made, accurate specifications for woodcare projects.
Users are guided through a series of brief questions to identify which Sadolin products are suitable for selection for their individual specification projects. This versatile tool may also be used to specify appropriate paint systems from the other professional brands in the Crown Paints family, including Crown Trade and Sandtex Trade, for use on a wide variety of additional substrates.
