Crown Paints puts colour on-trend With Spring/Summer forecasts

Crown Paints has revealed its renowned Colour Influences programme, which sets out the on-trend hues for specifiers next season.

Three palettes have been unveiled, which work across the Crown Trade, Sadolin and Sandtex Trade brands.

‘Freedom of Expression’ ‘Playtime and ‘Organic Discovery’ have each been developed by the Crown Paints’ Influences Panel, a team of creative experts who have produced the palettes using a wide-variety of trends.

Designed to give specifiers inspiration for projects across public spaces, commercial environments and retail areas, the palettes can be viewed in the Crown Paints’ Spring /Summer 2015 trends brochure, which can be ordered by emailing the specification services team at info@crownpaintspec.co.uk.

Crown Paints colour specialist, Jemma Saunders, is a member of the Colour Influences panel and has worked to ensure the palettes appeal to the unique needs of specifers in a wide-variety of environments.

Jemma said: “These new palettes offer an inspiring yet practical look to create beautiful spaces inside and out.
The first palette, ‘Freedom of Expression’ is a vibrant collection made up of saturated hues and base colours of calmer neutrals.
“It sees warm orange, deep cerise and mulberry reds contrast against electric blue and aqua, and the vivacity of these colours create an energising lively space and a fun and uplifting environment.

“This palette is perfect for commercial areas; receptions and entrances, circulation areas, schools and colleges, as well as office and healthcare buildings, with bold blocks of colour used to shorten long narrow spaces or bring attention to focal points.

“The next palette, ‘Playtime’ offers soft chalky candy colours and cutting edge grey shades that contrast against a back drop of industrial surfaces, such as concrete, steel and brick.

“This palette alone is perfect for creating gentle spaces with an upmarket feel such as waiting rooms, apartment blocks and healthcare interiors.

“Muted shades are calming yet contemporary, and creamy lemons, mint greens and coral pinks add warmth and create an inviting interior. It enables spaces to appear light and airy and the warmer tones counteract cool grey skies.

“The final palette, ‘Organic Discovery’ is a refreshing choice made up of cool blues and harmonious greens, with highlights of chartreuse to add a little zest.

“Its concept is based on vivid saturated greens rather than natural organic tones, accented with colourful graphic printed textiles.

“This is a versatile palette and can meet different requirements. For example, to open a space, the off white or paler blue shade can be teamed with a deeper shade for interest.

“To create a calming environment or in an area of study/work, the cooler shades of blues/greens can be used alone or with the neutral base colour Sidewalk, while a more dramatic and energetic interior can be created with saturated green or the use of lots of zesty chartreuse.”

Jemma is part of Crown Paints’ Colour Services Team, which offers specialist advice for specifiers.
